I am a Project Officer with the Illinois J39 WMD (also known as the CERFP). I have supported domestic operations at least some capacity for over 10 years. I began my career in the United States Navy in 2003 as an Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt. I deployed in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom in 2005. I joined the Illinois Army National Guard in 2008 and have been a member of the CBRN Enhanced Response Force Package (CERFP) Search and Extraction element ever since. I recently commissioned branching in CBRN to continue supporting domestic operations within Illinois. I graduated from Western Illinois University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management. I consider the field of emergency and disaster management to be a vital discipline within emergency services and I look forward to gaining more knowledge and networking through SGAUS and the MEMS Academy.
